Is This What Happens After Abortion? Whether you are for abortion or against abortion.

Dr. George Tiller, who remained one of the nation’s few providers of late-term abortions through decades of protests and attacks, has been shot and killed.

The gunman fled, but a 51-year-old suspect has been arrested, 170 miles away in suburban Kansas City three hours after the shooting.

Dr. Tiller’s who ran a “The Women’s Health Care Service Clinic” is one of just three in the nation where abortions are performed after the 21st week of pregnancy.

This is not the first time Dr. Tiller has been the victim of an attempted murder;
In 1993 Dr. Tiller was shot in both arms by a protester.
In 1985 his clinic was bombed.

More recently, Dr.Tiller had asked federal prosecutors to step up investigations of vandalism and other threats against the clinic out of fear that the incidents were increasing and that Dr.Tiller’s safety was in jeopardy. The police knew of no threats connected to this latest shooting.

In early May, Tiller had asked the FBI to investigate vandalism at his clinic, including cut wires to surveillance cameras and damage to the roof that sent rainwater pouring into the building.
The clinic was heavily fortified and Tiller often traveled with a bodyguard, it was reported that there were no indication of security at the church on Sunday.

“When Charged with and Convicted of Murders, Should Life in Prison Actually Mean a Life Sentence?”

“Does a gangster life style deserve the kudos that it receives?”

“How would you feel if it were a member of your family that was murdered?”

Close family members of Manchester’s two most dangerous gangsters are seeking compensation from the police claiming their human rights have been breached by a crime fighting poster

When both were jailed for life following a six month trial in which nine other members of the gang were jailed. Greater Manchester Police marked their conviction with a billboard campaign across the city. See Billboard.

It showed the killers alongside pictures of how they could look when they are finally released from prison.

The posters thanked the public for coming forward with the evidence that convicted them.

Gangland shootings in Greater Manchester (also known as “Gun - Chester”) dropped by 92 % following the arrest and conviction of this infamous gang.

Civil rights group ‘Liberty’ is backing their legal action against Greater Manchester Police (GMP). It is understood a letter sent to the police by ‘Liberty’ says that the posters infringed the relatives’ privacy under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Last night GMP chief constable Peter Fahy said: “We appreciate that in all we do we have to consider the human rights of all and that a balancing exercise has to be carried out. In this case we were concerned with the ultimate human right - the right to life and this far outweighed any privacy rights.”

It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.
Theodore Roosevelt

Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.
Thomas Jefferson

There is only one success–to be able to spend your life in your own way.
Christopher Morley

The secret of success in life is for a man to be ready for his opportunity when it comes.
Earl of Beaconsfield

The man who makes a success of an important venture never waits for the crowd. He strikes out for himself. It takes nerve, it takes a great lot of grit; but the man that succeeds has both. Anyone can fail. The public admires the man who has enough confidence in himself to take a chance. These chances are the main things after all. The man who tries to succeed must expect to be criticized. Nothing important was ever done but the greater number consulted previously doubted the possibility. Success is the accomplishment of that which most people think can’t be done.
C. V. White

Men spend their lives in anticipations,—in determining to be vastly happy at some period when they have time. But the present time has one advantage over every other—it is our own. Past opportunities are gone, future have not come. We may lay in a stock of pleasures, as we would lay in a stock of wine; but if we defer the tasting of them too long, we shall find that both are soured by age.

Is a Real Orgasm by Asphyxiation Suicide or Self Harm?

Is a Real Orgasm by Asphyxiation Suicide or Self Harm?

Asphyxia (from Greek meaning ‘without pulse’, or ‘heartbeat’) is a condition of severely deficient supply of oxygen to the body that arises from being unable to breathe normally. An example of asphyxia is choking. Asphyxia causes generalized hypoxia, which primarily affects the tissues and organs.

Source: Wikipedia

A simple explanation is that lack of oxygen can cause lightheadedness, reducing inhibitions and enhancing the sexual experience. Masochistic and castration fantasies are common and other psychological factors also play a role.

In my opinion auto erotic asphyxiation is not suicide or self harm, but an impulse to experience a breathless orgasm. During this dangerous act of asphyxia death is commonly accidental. One researcher estimates there are at least 50 deaths annually nationwide and the victims are mostly young males.

Auto erotic asphyxiation came about (no pun intended) the observation of men when hung in execution they often displayed an erection and sometimes ejaculation occurred.

No doubt you have heard that on June 4, 2009, David Carradine was found dead in his room in central Bangkok, A police official said David was found hanging by a rope in the room’s closet and it was also reported that his body was found curled up in the wardrobe with a shoelace tied around his neck and genitals.

According to ex-wife Marina Anderson there was a dark and intense side to David. Previously in her divorce filing she had claimed that “It was the continuation of abhorrent and deviant sexual behavior which was potentially deadly.”

This is how I choose to remember David.

John Arthur David Carradine (December 8, 1936 – June 3, 2009) was an American actor best known for his work in the 1970s television series Kung Fu and more recently in the Kill Bill films. He appeared in more than 100 feature films and was nominated four times for a Golden Globe Award.

My thoughts and respect are with his family and close friends.

Unleash the Power of Self Confidence

Unleash the Power of Self Confidence: Suffering with low esteem and lack of self confidence can seriously affect our self worth and value.

7 Tips To Improving self confidence:

Some believe that everything happens for a reason; Action and consequence;

Past hurts and mistakes can become our teachers and we can learn from them, they can become your tools in both self improvement and success.

“Have you seen the film “Patch Adams” – it’s one of my favourite movies.
Hunter “patch” Adams is a medical student who failed to make it through the board exams. After months of suffering in melancholy, depression and suicidal attempts, he decided to seek for medical attention and voluntarily admitted himself in a psychiatric ward. His stay in the hospital led him to meeting different kinds of people;
He met a catatonic, a mentally retard, a schizophrenic and so on. Patch found ways of treating his own ailment and finally realized he had to get back on track.
He woke up one morning realizing that after all the failure and pain he had gone through, he still wanted to become a doctor. He carried with him a positive attitude that brought him self improvement and success. He didn’t only improve himself, but also the life of the people around him and the quality of life.
Did he succeed? Needless to say, he became the best damn doctor his country has ever known”

I know what your thinking…Where do I start?

Here are 7 tips:

1. Stop thinking and feeling as if you’re a failure. How can others accept you if YOU cannot accept YOURSELF? Self acceptance is not just about how we look, it’s about the inside. Concentrate on inner beauty.

2. When people feel so down and low about themselves, help them to feel positive, this will in it self help you too.

3. The world is a large room where lessons can be learned through our mistakes. Try not to feel stupid or a failure. Examine your internal dialogue. Make room for self improvement. Take each day as it comes.

4. Take each day one at a time. Patience is a virtue and Self improvement will not happen over night… Success comes from self confidence, self appreciation and self esteem.

5. Set meaningful and achievable goals. Small but relevant changes that will help you to improve a better YOU.

6. Little things can mean a lot. Allowing ourselves 5 minutes of gratitude daily, can have a tremendous affect on our moods. Being appreciative about beautiful things like nature, will also help us to radiate our inner beauty.

7. When you are willing to accept change and go through the process of self improvement, it does not mean that everyone else will. The world is a place full of people with different values and attitudes.

We should always remember that there’s no such thing as ‘over night success’.

“When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”

There is Nothing Quite Like Falling in Love…

“Falling in love with you” - Such sweet words to hear from your loved one.

There is Nothing Quite Like Falling in Love…

Top Seven Ways of Knowing When You’re in Love;

1. Do you think about them all of the time?
This one needs no explanation. If you love someone, they are usually in your thoughts quite a lot of the time but be careful because this can be “lust” and infatuation.

2. Does everything remind you of them?
It seems like every person you meet or see on TV or hear a story about has the same name as the person you’re in love with.

3. Have you started to care more about your own appearance?
You find yourself wanting to groom yourself every day, checking how you look in every reflective surface around.

4. Are you interested in knowing more about them?
Finding out all about this fantastic person is your new favourite thing to do. If you could find a book detailing every minute detail of their life, you wouldn’t sleep or eat until you read every last paragraph.

5. You find your self wanting to impress them.
You make sure that the newspaper article about you winning a swimming contest is left nonchalantly on the coffee table when they come to visit.

6. Hanging out with your friends just isn’t as appealing any more.
Remember when you and your friends made fun of the friend who ditched you all so they could hang out with their new partner? Now you’re finding yourself in the same situation.

7. Commitment is actually starting to sound like something you could stand.
Commit to something that requires you to be faithful and responsible? Thinking in “we” and not “I”. Having thoughts of marriage?

Today the generally accepted definition of binge drinking in the United States is the consumption of five or more drinks in a row by men — or four or more drinks in a row by women — at least once in the previous 2 weeks. Heavy binge drinking includes three or more such episodes in 2 weeks.

Discovering Active Listening and Empathic Hearing

Discovering Active Listening and Empathic Hearing; Listening for emotion in voices, watching body languages are all part of listening skills that talking therapists are trained for.

The most basic of all human needs is the need to understand and to be understood. The best way to understand people is to listen to them.

Most people tend to be “hard of listening” rather than “hard of hearing.”

Hearing is more than the simple act of perceiving sound by the ear.

Does hearing simply happen?

Listening, however, is something you consciously choose to do. Listening requires concentration so that your brain processes meaning from words and sentences.

When it comes to the similarities between listening and hearing, it is not just that you use your ears for both.

How to to improve your active listening and empathic hearing skills.

“Here’s what I think I’ve just heard you say…”

“Tell me have I heard you accurately?.”

“Let me check out my understanding of what you have just said…..”

“I can hear in your voice that you feel angry/anxious/frightened?”

To listen effectively is a powerful skill that can be learnt with practice. You gain more respect and high esteem when you listen rather than when talking.

The mind functions seven times more quickly than it is possible to speak. Therefore the mind needs to be slowed down and focused on what the person is saying, and not by being distracted by other irrelevant thoughts.

This is Truely listening.

Within the therapeutic alliance, I place a great importance on my ability to listen and more importantly, my ability to hear empathically.

There is a critical difference from a patients perspective to being listened to and being heard and the ability to move between one and the other is what makes for a good helpful relationship that can facilitate growth and change.

We can often hear anger, anxiety and fear within a voice. Escalating tension as they disclose their problems. A lack of resolution as they “dump” on us. Witnessing their angst as they want us to “get rid” of the problem. If only I could make their problem go away then their lives would be so much better.

Offering empathy to their fears and anxieties the patients feel heard and understood on all levels.

The Truth about ECT Electroconvulsive Therapy

The Truth about ECT Electroconvulsive Therapy; Electroconvulsive Therapy was first introduced in the 1930s and was used as a treatment for depression extensively throughout 1940s and 1950s;
Even today an estimated 1 million people worldwide receive ECT every year, usually in a course of 6-12 treatments, 2 or 3 times a week.

Electroconvulsive therapy can differ on application in 3 ways;

Electrode placement,

Length of time that the stimulus is given,

Property of the stimulus

The official figures on the use of controversial electric shock treatment show that hundreds of people were treated against their will.

A quarter of ECT patients were formally detained under the Mental Health Act 1983.

The figures show 2,800 patients received electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) over a three month period from January to March 1999.

There were 900 male patients receiving treatment, compared with 1,900 female patients.

Of the 700 ECT patients formally detained whilst receiving ECT treatment, 59% did not consent to treatment.

The last Department of Health figures were issued in 1991.

Mental health campaigners say that:
“No-one really knows how it works and what its long-term effects are”.

A spokeswoman said:
“It is so risky and severe. The side effects can be very severe, including short- or long-term memory loss, coma and possibly death.”

Mental Health Campaigners hope these statistics help towards banning the use of ECT without consent and a total ban on its use for people under 16.

The Royal College of Psychiatrists have expressed concern about the way the treatment is administered. In a recent report, it stated that ECT could be administered by poorly trained junior doctors with out-of-date equipment and often left unsupervised.

I personally have seen both sides of the outcome - Patients whose lives have been transformed and their depression lifted and quality of life resumed and of course those that are quite literally worse as a result, suffering with memory loss, nervous twitches and adhedonistic attitudes.

So Again. Let me ask if any of you have had any experience with Electroconvulsive Therapy either as a therapist or as a patient.

Please share them with us all…We are interested and we are listening.
